BIOGRAPHICAL BACKGROUND:

  • Dr. Jean-Ronel Corbier was born in New York City but has traveled extensively. When he was an adolescent his family accepted a call to do missionary work in Africa. He lived in Central Africa (Rwanda and Burundi), East Africa (Kenya) and West Africa (Ivory Coast). He spent a total of seven years in Africa. Dr. Corbier's Christian faith and past experiences have played a strong role in his philosophy of life and current approach to health care. Dr. Corbier is married to Michelle Corbier who is a pediatrician. They have one son.

                  MEDICAL BACKGROUND

  • Dr. Jean-Ronel Corbier attended medical school at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Corbier enrolled concurrently in a Master's program in Health and Humanities. He subsequently did a pediatric residency in Flint, Michigan. Dr. Corbier then did a year of adult neurology training at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio followed by 2 years of child neurology fellowship training at the Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati.
  • Dr. Corbier has had additional neurological training in various medical centers across the U.S. including Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and the University of Michigan. Dr. Corbier has also studied abroad. He spent a summer at the University of London in England for a comparative study of the British and American health care systems.

MEDICAL INTERESTS

  • While Dr. Corbier treats all childhood neurological disorders, he has a special interest in the condition known as autism or autistic spectrum disorder. He has authored two books on autism (see Autism for his latest book).   • As a child neurologist interested in wellness, Dr. Corbier is dedicated to the study of nutrition and its role in neurological disorders in a way that is very unique among child neurologists. Dr. Corbier believes that nutrition, lifestyle and stress impacts heavily (more so than commonly thought) on the presentation and treatment outcome of various neurological disorders in children. Dr. Corbier has shared his message on various TV shows, radio programs and workshops and can be thought of as a child nutritional neurologist.

Dr. Jean-Ronel Corbier often shares his RESTORATION model with others by giving lectures. He has authored several books that utilize principles derived from the RESTORATION model. Dr. Jean-Ronel Corbier has a twin brother, Paul who is also a physician (internist). He is a lecturer with a strong emphasis on wellness
